Business Comings: Popular in the Valley, Driving School Moves from Issaquah to Snoqualmie

One company is learning pretty quickly just how many kids live in the Snoqualmie Valley – kids who at some point need to learn how to drive.

Last summer, Shield Driving School began offering Driver’s Education in North Bend through a partnership with the Si View Community Center – taught by a familiar face and former Snoqualmie Valley bus driver, Felicia Stone.

As it turns out, the move to offer classes in Valley proved popular.

This week Shield Driving School announced they will be closing their Issaquah location on Gilman Blvd at the end of February and relocating to Snoqualmie. Both the Issaquah and North Bend classes will move to the new downtown Snoqualmie location at that time.

Shield Driving School Office Manager Kristie Herman said the North Bend location is getting so much business that it has taken away from the Issaquah location – so they decided to “move the brick and mortar” out to the Snoqualmie Valley.

Herman added that Shield very excited for their new space at 38579 SE River Street, which is the River Street Building located across from Snoqualmie City Hall.

Instructor Felicia Stone said the new location is centrally located for the Snoqualmie Valley and hopes it will even be convenient for Carnation families.

Shield also plans to offer after school classes in April that will begin at 3PM so students can walk from the high school or be dropped by the school bus.

Good Luck Shield Driving School – welcome to Snoqualmie.
