On December 14, 2017, for the second time in roughly 17 hours, a serious collision was blocking all lanes of SR 18 just west of I-90, with the accident occurring in the eastbound lanes.
Eastside Fire and Rescue tweeted around 9AM that crews were en-route to the accident scene that involved a possible entrapment at milepost 27. This is the same area where a fatal head-on collision occurred during the Wednesday evening commute.
EF&R rescue was asking drivers to avoid the area due to the extended collision scene. Police were blocking the entrance to SR 18 from I-90.
Washington State Patrol (WSP) said Thursday’s accident involved four vehicles and four people were transported to Overlake Medical Center with non life threatening injuries.
WSP estimated reopening SR 18 around 10:30AM.
More information will be added as it becomes available.
