Search and Rescue volunteers do important work in the Snoqualmie Valley. Sometimes the reality of their work is a recovery, not a rescue. Yesterday was one of those days.
King County Explorer Search and Rescue (SAR) announced on their Facebook page last night that search and rescue teams located the body of a missing Redmond man, Ira Thomas Clodfelter.
Clodfelter, 28, was reported missing on Monday, February 4th, when he didn’t show up for work. His vehicle was found a day later in the Rattlesnake Mountain trailhead parking lot in North Bend.
Over 60 trained volunteers searched the mountain and trail/road system for two days, even utilizing snowmobiles for searching the higher trails, before the search was called off Wednesday, February 6, 2013.
Saturday, February 9th, search and rescue dog teams from a nearby county were training in the area when they located the body of Clodflter. Some King County SAR teams were also back in the area yesterday – searching a few more locations identified during the Tuesday/Wednesday search operation. Those SAR volunteers completed the recovery mission.
According to Komo News, the deceased was located about 12:30PM, February 9, 2013.
