According to a Planning Department Staff Report contained in the February 9, 2015, Snoqualmie City Council meeting agenda, it appears a new, private school is coming to Snoqualmie.
That staff report stated the Goddard School is in the preliminary planning process for construction of a 8,700 square foot facility to be located on Snoqualmie Ridge Division II, land parcel S-23.
That parcel is located at the corner of SE 96th Street and Snoqualmie Parkway (north side of 96th), near I-90. It sits on the very edge of the Aster Creek neighborhood, buffered by some wetland open space.
According Western Real Estate’s marketing flyer for the 1.7 acre land parcel, it was offered for $1.2 million and is zoned for commercial and retail use. The school is proposed to be built on lot 3 of parcel S-23.
The Goddard School has hundreds of franchised locations in 35 states across the U.S., according to its website. Four of those locations are on the Eastside in Bellevue, Issaquah and Redmond.
Currently, the potential tenant has completed Mixed Use Consistency Review Phase 1, which according to the City of Snoqualmie Planning Department, ensures the building proposals/designs comply with Snoqualmie Ridge development standards.
According to the city, the school owner was expected to submit for building permits, Friday, February 20, 2015, and building could begin as early as summer 2015, depending on the permitting process.
The city stated the school is intended for children 18 months to 5 years old.
