A couple of local businesses are under new ownership, including one longtime establishment that did a lot of remodeling.
The Swirl finds new owners
Mike Kuntz and his wife Lauren recently purchased The Swirl frozen yogurt shop in North Bend, located in the Ace Hardware retail area. He explained the previous owners had pretty much closed the place – even telling customers it would be closing – when they jumped in and took over.
He wants residents to know The Swirl IS staying open and hopes community members will spread the good news. Mike said it will be a true family business, complete with his mother-in-law serving as the new manager.
Mike and Lauren are Snoqualmie Valley locals. She’s owns North Bend Therapeutic Massage and he’s been the manager of the Corningware Store at the North Bend Outlet Mall for the past 15 years.
Mike said, “We are just excited to keep the place going as the community loves it.”
The Swirl will be adding Italian sodas, cookies and warm drinks to their menu, as well as hosting some holiday events and extending store hours soon.
Iconic Snoqualmie Candy Shop reopens
Snoqualmie Falls Candy Shoppe (formerly Snoqualmie Falls Candy Factory) reopened their doors on October 27th.
Owner Marsha Harris said they were very excited to reopen the longtime Snoqualmie Valley business. She said the candy factory will remain inside the shop and continue churning out the famous caramel corn.
And don’t fret. The ice cream is still there, with lots of hand-scooped flavors, and the candy section was expanded. The cafe is open for light breakfast and esspresso drinks and you can still grab sandwiches and burgers later in the day.
The interior got a makeover, too. Lots of painting and sprucing up happened over the past couple of months – and the kitchen was also completely redone. If you stroll to the back of the shoppe you’ll even find some vintage arcade games. PacMan anyone?
Upcoming Business Openings: MOD and Iron Duck Public House
MOD Pizza will open on Snoqualmie Ridge on November 17th at noon. There will be FREE pizza or salad for first 52 customers, some MOD giveaways and 100% of opening day pizza sales will be donated to Si View Metro Parks
The opening of the Iron Duck Public House in North Bend looks like it’s been delayed a bit. We told you a few weeks ago they were planning to open on November 7th, but their website now says late November as the target timeframe.
