The cold, raining weather may not show it today, but it’s that time of year again. Tuesday, May 6th, at 3PM sharp, the opening bell will ring in the popular Carnation Farmers Market’s 2014 season.
Organizers say to bring shopping bags and plan to load them up! Many favorite vendors are returning for the 2014 season and bringing with them fresh produce, cheese, and butter; handmade ice cream; wood-fired rustic breads; wine; sweet honey from local bees; handmade soy soaps and candles; and as always, fresh flowers bouquets.
New vendors are also joining the lineup this year, allowing the market to offer even more local produce, wine, artisan teas; gluten-free pastries; and fresh, locally made pet foods.
Hungry for dinner? A new vendor offering prepared South Carolina style cuisine joins returning favorites from last season – making it easy to grab dinner, do some shopping and listen to the sound of local bands.
The Carnation Farmers Market is open Tuesdays from 3PM – 7PM starting May 6th and running until October 28th, with an additional Thanksgiving Harvest Market the last week in November.
The market is located in the heart of downtown Carnation on the corner of Bird Street and Stossel Avenue in The Tolt Commons Community Shelter, just one block east of Highway 203/Tolt Avenue.
Music on the Grass, Chalk Art with Joe Lee Davidson, cooking demonstrations (complete with sampling), and a children’s activity booth are also weekly features at the Carnation Farmers Market.
As a program of SnoValley Tilth, the market embodies SVT’s vision of “more farmers growing more food on more land for our community.” The farmers market is one of several ways SnoValley Tilth supports and promotes sustainable and organic farming in the Snoqualmie and Snohomish Valleys.
