Earth Day and Arbor Day are both environmental observances, but they focus on different aspects of nature and environmental conservation.

It is celebrated in the United States on the last Friday in April, though different countries observe it at other times of the year based on their local tree-planting seasons. Arbor Day was first celebrated in Nebraska in 1872, and it was created to encourage people to plant trees for their environmental benefits and contributions to community well-being.
Arbor Day events typically involve tree-planting activities, tree care workshops, and educational programs about the importance of trees to ecosystems and human health.
So, Earth Day is a broader environmental observance encompassing a wide range of environmental issues, while Arbor Day focuses explicitly on planting and caring for trees.
Both days, however, share a common goal of promoting environmental stewardship and awareness.
North Bend Beautification Days
In honor of Earth Day, the city invites community members to join North Bend for its third annual Beautification Days on April 21st and 22nd.
City council and staff, the North Bend Downtown Foundation, Republic Services, Empower Youth Network, the North Bend Theatre, and many others are teaming up to clean areas of North Bend those same two days, and residents are invited to join in.
The concept is simple: grab some gloves and bags for recycling or trash and head out into your neighborhood or to your favorite park, river spot, or area you think needs extra care – and help tidy up our city.
This is an independent event with no time constraints! Please feel free to gather together and pick up trash or go solo.
Celebrate Arbor Day in Snoqualmie

Snoqualmie celebrates its Tree City USA status and commitment to the environment with an Arbor Day event on April 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Riverview Park, 39000 SE Park Street, and you’re invited!
This event is for all ages and includes tree planting, native plant restoration, a scavenger hunt and children’s activities, and a pizza lunch.
Event Timeline:
10 a.m. – Specimen tree planting and invasive species removal.
12:30 p.m. – Mayor’s Proclamation, scavenger hunt, and children’s activities followed by a pizza lunch.
