City of Snoqualmie Chief Finance Officer Nicholas Lee announced his resignation on Friday, October 27, 
2017.
Lee said he resigned with mixed emotions, but is excited to have been offered and accepted the position of Finance Director for the King County Library System (KCLS).
Lee’s last day will be November 30, 2017. He has held the position for two years.
According to the resignation letter Lee stated he had determined that the new job opportunity offered increased responsibility and was closer to home, which benefits his career and family.
Lee said his resignation is unrelated to the invoicing and payment issues involving a city contractor discussed at Monday’s city council meeting. He explained that he received the KCLS job offer before the October 23rd meeting.
Lee commented via email, “I am fortunate to be able to continue serving the Valley in a different capacity with King County Library System (KCLS).”
The resignation letter submitted to Mayor Larson said:
“I am grateful for the opportunity provided to me to serve this exceptional community. It has been a pleasure working with you, leadership and staff in pursuit of fiscal sustainability and operational excellence. I am confident that our journey towards a common vision, organizational alignment and enhanced community impact will continue for years to come.”
Lee said he will focus his efforts in the coming days to ensuring a smooth transition for his department and the city. He will also assist with the biennial budget review before he leaves.
Per press release the city said it will begin the process of recruiting for a new Chief Finance Officer shortly.
