Three weeks removed from a paving project that coincided with the Snoqualmie Ridge community-wide garage sale, SVSD early release Friday and teacher rally, and brought Snoqualmie Parkway to complete traffic gridlock, the City of Snoqualmie is fore-warning residents of a roadway striping project that is expected to bring another possible round of heavy traffic.
On Monday, June 8, 2015 from 8AM to 5PM the city says pavement striping will occur on Snoqualmie Ridge at two intersections: Douglas Ave SE/Snoqualmie Parkway and Fairway Ave SE/Snoqualmie Parkway. These are the same intersections where the traffic-causing paving project was done in mid-May.
According to a press release, striping is scheduled to be completed on June 8th, but there is the possibility of the work running over to June 9th. The striping project is weather dependent, but sunny skies are forecast for the upcoming week.
Residents should be prepared for alternating lane shifts, meaning one lane will always remain open, but traffic will flow in one direction and then will shift to the other direction intermittently.
There will be no full road closures or detours required. However, traffic is expected to be heavy and city officials ask that residents plan ahead.
The City of Snoqualmie apologizes for this inconvenience to residents.
