As part of Snoqualmie’s commitment to providing equal access to its public programs, services, facilities, and activities to all citizens, including those with disabilities, the city is currently developing an ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan for the Public Right-of-Way. The plan focuses on curb ramps, pedestrian street crossings, and paved trails within City limits.
During the Right-of-Way ADA Transition Plan process, the city engages with the community, including a new City webpage, survey, and upcoming virtual public workshop on June 13, 2023, from 6-7 pm.
The city’s intended goals for the June 13 workshop include developing relationships with local organizations serving individuals with disabilities (as identified by the ADA); providing the public with the opportunity to identify accessibility barriers and recommend improvements to the city’s public right-of-way; and prioritizing when and where to remove existing ADA barriers.
