Development Agreement for a Downtown Senior Housing Project on West North Bend Way: Notice of Public Hearing

You may have read the article on April 29^th, which talked about the possibility of a senior housing facility coming to the area west of the Pour House on North Bend Way. Now you can make your opinion known at a public hearing on the project.

Description of Proposal:

The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to receive comment on a proposed Development Agreement (DA) for a mixed-use senior housing development on King County Tax Parcel Nos. 8570900205 and 8570900188 on West North Bend Way (adjacent to the South Fork Snoqualmie River). DAs may be considered by the North Bend City Council subject to the process in North Bend Municipal Code Chapter 18.27.

The purpose of the proposed DA is to allow the project to have an expanded height limit of 43 feet in consideration of the sloped topography on the site and in exchange for providing 10% of units as affordable housing, subject to provisions identified in the DA, and subject to required permits and approvals. The standard height limit at this site is 35’ per the North Bend Municipal Code. The draft DA, including the conceptual site plan and building elevations, is available on the City’s website under “Public Notices.”

The project is a 60-unit mixed-use senior housing development proposal that will include ground-floor commercial/restaurant space, underground/basement-level parking, and three floors of senior housing apartments, 10% of which will be made affordable to those making at or below 80% of the area median income. This notice and a public hearing are specific to the proposed Development Agreement. Permitting for the associated development will be noticed and issued separately.
