According to the September 15, 2016 Snoqualmie Valley School Board meeting agenda, the board will be asked to approve a resolution authorizing the district to buy another piece of property adjacent Mount Si High School.
Per the resolution contained within the consent agenda, the owners of the property located at 8975 Meadowbrook Way SE approached the district to see if it was interested in purchasing the nearly 1/4 acre property.
The property abuts the west edge of Mount Si High School property (near the shop building) and sits adjacent other properties the district recently purchased in order to accommodate the design and shorten the construction timeline for the high school rebuild – which breaks ground in spring 2017.
The land parcel is in the area where the softball and baseball fields will eventually be re-located – considered phase 2a of the multi-year rebuild project and expected to be constructed between September 2019 – August 2020.
Once the resolution is approved by the board, the district will be authorized to enter into a purchase agreement with the property owners for the price of $290,000.
Most of rebuilt Mount Si High School will open in Fall 2019. The final components – the Performing Arts Center, ball fields and parking lot – will be completed in 2020.
