Sometimes good things are worth the wait. In the case of Duvall’s new outdoor stage, nothing could be more true.
In mid-June, the City of Duvall received delivery of its new stage after two years of community fundraising and appropriations from 4Culture, the State of Washington and the City of Duvall.
The new stage replaces a 50-year old stage that began its career with the City of Seattle in the 60’s and was acquired by Duvall in 2004 at a surplus auction.
And the stage will be ushered in with a ribbon cutting ceremony prior to the launch of the 2018 SummerStage free outdoor concert series next week.
The City of Duvall says you know summer has really arrived when you see the crowds crossing Main Street headed to McCormick Park – and can hear the pounding of music coming from SummerStage.
This year’s kick-off concert happens on July 11th at 6:30 PM with the stage’s ribbon cutting ceremony. Attendees can get a first look at the shiny new stage and to honor all of those who helped make the community dream come true.
Immediately following the ceremony, Jr. Cadillac – an iconic classic rock band celebrating its 48th year – will be rocking and rolling through town with a show packed with classics, old standards and new favorites.
Duvall says this year’s concert lineup promises to be as big as ever with the opening concert by Jr. Cadillac followed up by hometown favorite Austin Jenckes on July 18th.
The hits just keep rolling after that with a total of seven weeks of music, activities, food and fun that will keep families entertained all summer long.
