The annual Snoqualmie Valley Empty Bowls fundraiser supporting the Fall City and Snoqualmie Valley Food Banks returns on Friday, January 11th, from 5:30 – 7:30PM, in the Mount Si High School Commons.
Sponsored by Mount Si Cheerleading and the Mount Si Culinary Arts program, Empty Bowls is a community dinner – comprised of soup and bread served in handmade soup bowls created by students from Chief Kanim and Twin Falls Middle Schools and Mount Si High School. At the end of the evening, attendees also take home their handcrafted bowls.
Organizers say [so far] North Bend Bar & Grill, Rio Bravo, Little Si Lounge & Restaurant, Copperstone Family Restaurant and Mount Si Golf Course have committed to provide tasty soups – and both North Bend and Snoqualmie Safeways have donated bread and desserts.
Tickets are available online and at the door for $15/each or a $50 for a family of four. The Mount Si Band Program will also provide music during the event.
According to the Fall City Food Bank, each ticket sold provides a lot for those in need. Because food banks purchase in bulk, each $15 ticket buys: 1 box of cereal; 1 quart of milk; 2 cans of tuna; 2 cans of chicken; 2 cans of fruit or 3 cans of veggies; 1 jar of peanut butter; 1 jar of jam; 1 dozen eggs; 1 jar of pasta sauce; 1 tube of toothpaste; 2 rolls of toilet paper.
