Encompass Launches New Reading Program; Offers Popular Super Sitters Class For One Fall Session

Encompass has some great news to share.  It’s launching a new program to help struggling readers and is bringing back its popular super sitters class to continue training all the Snoqualmie Valley up and coming babysitters.

Wired For Reading

Is reading a struggle for your 1st-5th grader?  Encompass is launching a proven one-on-one program to help.

Wired for Reading is an evidence-based linguistics program that focuses on reading, spelling and vocabulary. Its multi-sensory, systematic approach has a strong record of success for struggling readers.  The program is designed for 1st through 5th grade students. To participate, children need to know the letters of the alphabet and the sounds associated with them.

Teaching Wired For Reading at Encompass is Megan Soden, a home visitor with the Encompass Parent-Child Home Program.  Megan completed advanced training in the  new program  and is a certified K-8 teacher with long teaching experience.

Sessions are held on Friday afternoons at the Encompass Downtown North Bend location at 209 Main Ave. S.  They last 50 minutes unless the child is very young and needs a shorter, 30-minute session.  It is recommended that parents participate in the sessions so they can carry over the learning at home. As the Friday sessions fill up, the program will be offered on other days.
