Fire Blotter | Malicious fire alarm pull at Mount Si; fatal accident on I-90; broken leg but not sure how

September 27th

At around 9:05AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters were called to a non-emergency lift assist. The patient was assisted back to his chair and told to call 911 if he had any more problems.

September 28th

At around 8:50PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters received a station call where the reporting party believed a friend had broken his leg but was unsure of what happened. The caller was advised to call 911 to dispatch firefighters. The unit arrived to find a patient they were very familiar with who was highly intoxicated. Snoqualmie Police Department advised that they had already given him a ride to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and detox and that he had checked himself out at approximately 8pm. Firefighters performed an evaluation and found the individual to be too intoxicated to make an informed decision and transported him back to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital.

At around 9:45PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a Ridge residence with an activated fire alarm. Upon arrival, firefighters were met by the house-sitter advising he was cooking chicken wings and set off the fire alarm. There were no signs of fire.

At around 11:30PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a report of a 19 y/o female experiencing a manic episode. The patient has history of these episodes and is undergoing treatment. The Police Department and firefighters arrived to find a stable patient who stated she just wanted to help herself and did not want to leave the house. The family agreed so firefighters and police left.

September 29th

At around 3:55AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched with other Eastside units for a reported rollover semi-truck on I-90 near milepost 25. Firefighters found two patients, the driver and an unrestrained man in his 50s in the sleeper cab who was complaining of confusion, as well as shoulder and chest pain. The patients were transported to Overlake Hospital Medical Center.

At around 7:20PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a box of papers that had caught on fire. The home owner extinguished the fire prior to unit arrival.

September 30th

At around 9:25AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted a fall patient off the ground and into his vehicle for a doctor’s appointment.

At around 7:45PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a residential activated fire alarm in a multi-family unit dwelling. The alarm was going off in one unit of the building. The unit was clear of smoke or haze. The alarm was pulled down, batteries were changed and reset.

October 1st

At around 4:25PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted another Eastside unit with a cardiac patient transfer to Overlake Hospital Medical Center.

At around 5:15PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 18 with one patient requesting medical evaluation. Firefighters provided assessment but the patient refused transport to seek additional care.

October 3rd

At around 12:15PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at Mt. Si High School. They determined it was a malicious pull of the fire alarm in the hallway at the old entrance, and the system was reset.

At around 12:35PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters were called to a fire alarm sounding at a single-family residence by the neighbor. Firefighters investigated and found that there was no way to enter the home. The Property manager was called and informed that the alarm was creating a nuisance.

October 4th

At around 3:00AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters were called for help loading a bariatric patient into an aid car for transport to Swedish Hospital Issaquah.

At around 6:15AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a report of a CO alarm sounding. The occupants were outside upon arrival. Their house was monitored, and nothing was found.

October 5th

At around 1:25AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to Fall City for a report of gas in a residence. Firefighters handled road blocks until an assessment could be made. Fall City command determined the risk was minimal and released Snoqualmie Firefighters.

October 8th

At around 3:55AM, Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted other Eastside units with a fatality single motor vehicle accident on eastbound I-90. The vehicle had driven off the road and into trees, severely impacting the driver side.

October 10th

At around 8:20PM, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded with other Eastside units to a reported vehicle accident into the woods near Edgewick Road. The unit arrived to find a vehicle on its top in about one-foot of water. The Eastside unit was assisting the patient out of the swamp and to the edge of the road. Snoqualmie firefighters assumed patient care and found the patient to be suffering from a diabetic issue and was transported to Swedish Medical Center in Issaquah.

 

[In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 22 medical aid incidents bringing the total number of calls to date to 776.]
