Here are a few calls the Snoqualmie Fire Department responded to this past week.
September 3rd
At 7:07 am Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted a 29-year-old female who experienced a leg laceration at work. Patient was treated and remained at work.
Later at 8:04 am Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted other units with a motor vehicle accident near Fall City. Firefighters prepared and helped load a patient for transport to a local area hospital.
At 9:04 am Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a call of a 1-year old falling off a sofa. Child was evaluated and no obvious injuries detected. Firefighters recommended calling their pediatrician for follow-up and left the scene.
Later on at 10:57 pm Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched to a single motorcycle accident. 45-year-old male was driving approximately 25mph when he hit something and laid the bike down. Patient had right foot and “road rash” injuries. Was transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.
September 4th
At 7:32 am Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a car fire on Hwy 18. On arrival, vehicle was 50% engulfed. Firefighters extinguished the fire and determined there were no occupants in or around the vehicle. Washington State Patrol confirmed the owner had talked with them and left the scene. Fire was determined to be caused by mechanical failure.
Later at 11:20 am, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded with other units to a 50-year-old male who had crashed on his mountain bike on Tiger Summit. The patient was thrown over the handlebars and hit a stump with his
back. Firefighters drove to a location close to the patient and the crews hiked in approximately 1 mile to find a conscious patient in extreme pain. The individual was strapped to a backboard and transported to Overlake Medical Center.
At 9:32 pm Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted a 47-year-old male who had fallen and injured his knee in the Ridge business area. The patient was transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.
September 5th
At 4:54 am, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a reported fire alarm at the Kimball Creek Condos. Call was reported by the occupant, reporting that she had an electrical issue and then her smoke alarms started going off. She was unable to find any obvious issue or source for the alarms going off. Firefighters arrived to find no signs of fire from the exterior and the occupant waiting on the doorstep. On investigation, it appeared one smoke detector did not have AC power, and another was providing an error code but for unknown reasons. The occupant was advised to contact the landlord.
September 8th
At 3:00 pm
Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched to a single motor vehicle accident on Hwy 18. 50-year-old male was complaining of chest pain. The patient stated he was driving westbound, put his hand up to block the sunlight and didn’t remember the accident. The vehicle had hit the center barrier, tearing off the door frame and right, front wheel. Airbags were deployed. The patient stated his chest hurt as a result of the seatbelt catching him. The patient was evaluated and he decided to wait for his family to pick him for transport to the nearest hospital.
Later at 4:03 pm, Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a juvenile male who had fallen from his bike. The patient stated he had hit something, sending him to the ground and landed on his right wrist. The patient was evaluated and assisted to his parent’s vehicle for transportation to the local hospital.
[In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 18 medical aid incidents bringing the total number of calls to 705 for 2020.]
