February 13th
Around 8AM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a reported CO alarm sounding inside of a residence. The homeowner advised it had been sounding since 2:00 am with nobody experiencing any symptoms. Firefighters investigated and found that two alarms chirping with both beyond their expiration and likely had malfunctioned. The homeowner was advised to replace the units.
At 11:40AM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched with other units for a reported odor of natural gas in the area of Timber Ridge Elementary School. No specifics were given, just that the odor was in the area of the school. Firefighters were unable to locate the odor.
Around 7PM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to an elderly male getting assistance from the Washington State Patrol. The WSP was unsure what the driver’s issue was and requested an evaluation. Firefighters determined the driver should be taken to the nearest hospital for further evaluation.
February 14th
Around 10:30AM Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted a mother whose 8-year-old daughter had a nosebleed.
Around 10:45AM Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched for a smoke smell at Cascade View Elementary School. The caller stated there was a smell coming from room 10, with no alarm sounding, but they are going to evacuate. Crews arrived with alarm now sounding, and school evacuation was in progress. Firefighters silenced the alarm and began investigating the source of the smell. The cause was determined to be an issue in the HVAC ducts. The scene turned over to school maintenance personnel.
February 17th
At 1:05AM Snoqualmie Firefighters assisted a 21-year-old male with a history of seizures. His parents stated he had been seizing for 15 minutes. He was also experiencing flu like symptoms and was transported to Overlake Medical Hospital.
Around 9;40AM Snoqualmie Firefighters dispatched to Snoqualmie Self Storage for an activated fire alarm. Workers on site had set it off. The alarm was reset.
At 2:45PM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to Salish Lodge for a female fall patient. Firefighters provided basic care, and the patient went with her family to seek further medical attention.
February 18th
Around 5:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a Ridge business for a report of an uncontrolled arm bleed. The patient was transported to Swedish Hospital in Issaquah.
Around 12PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to Kimble Creek Village for a fire alarm. A smoke detector had activated in one of the businesses. Nothing was found and crews system reset. The business owner was notified the next morning.
February 19th
Around 9AM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to City Hall for a male experiencing dizziness. After evaluation, the patient felt normal and said he would seek further medical attention if it occurred again.
At 2:30PM Snoqualmie Firefighters responded to a report of a smoke alarm sounding at a neighbor’s residence. The neighbor reported no signs of smoke or flames, however, the alarm had been sounding for about 3-5 minutes. E155 arrived to find an alarm sounding with no signs of fire from the outside. However, a window was located that was open. Firefighters made access to the home and located a smoke detector that had been activated, likely due to age. Crews removed the detector, and left a note explaining the problem to the homeowner and secured the residence.
Around 9:15PM Snoqualmie Firefighters were dispatched to a report of illegal burning. The caller advised the operator that the neighbor had a large bonfire burning and was concerned it would spread to the trees or neighbors’ houses or fences. Firefighters arrived at the address and found a small, attended warming fire in a purpose-built pit with water nearby. The residents were advised that due to wind and burning regulations within the City, that they would need to put it out. They complied and extinguished the fire while crew was on scene.
[In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 10 medical aid incidents bringing the total number of calls to 168 for 2020.]
