Firefighters Respond to Large Brush Fire near North Bend

North Bend City Administrator Londi Lindell sent out a message to area residents, Sunday afternoon, July 19, 2015, that a wildland fire was burning along the Snoqualmie River near the Tannerwood Trail – and was the reasons all of the smoke in North Bend.

Lindell said no homes or structures are involved and Eastside Fire and Rescue, the Forest Service and five other fire agencies were on scene with numerous pieces fire fighting equipment, working to put out the fire.

Police officers are also also present to assist with road closures and traffic control.  Lindell stated via email, “We fully expect them to successfully fight this fire.  Please do not attempt to visit the scene of the fire and let’s allow our public safety personnel to do what they do best and take care of this incident.”

Around 2PM, local firefighters stated via Twitter that they were on the scene of the large brush fire. By 4PM it was stated that the fire was under control.
