The Washington State DOT will be limiting construction delays on Interstate 90 east of Snoqualmie Pass for the Fourth of July holiday so drivers can get to their celebrations on time, but there will still be one closure – and that happens tonight.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will be closing the pass for rock blasting just one night from 8PM to 9PM on Monday, July 2nd. Crews will close I-90 in both directions from Hyak (milepost 54) to the Price Creek Sno-Park (milepost 61) from 8PM to 9PM. on Monday, July 2nd for rock blasting.
WSDOT crews will then suspend work at noon on Tuesday, July 3rd through the morning of Thursday, July 5th. Drivers traveling before or after these dates may experience minor delays due to rolling slowdowns. The traffic shift westbound around the snowshed will remain in place through the holiday.
Although WSDOT is suspending work for the holiday, drivers need to remember that increased traffic volumes will most likely cause delays.
