The City of North Bend announced that beginning in late September, Fury Site Works will begin road improvements at the intersection of North Bend Way and Thrasher Ave NE. The privately funded work is being done to mitigate future traffic impacts from new development in the area.
Pulte Homes is preparing to build about 100 homes in a new subdivision called River Glen, located between Thrasher Ave and Pickett Ave and between NE 3rd and 4th Streets near downtown North Bend. The single-family homes will be about 2,4oo -3,800 square feet, with model homes expected to open in October.
According to a press release, the North Bend Way/Thrasher Ave improvement project will consist of new storm drainage improvements, pavement widening, a new eastbound left turn lane, re-striping, and new intersection illumination for increased safety.
During construction, traffic from southbound Thrasher Ave NE to eastbound North Bend Way will be detoured west to the SE Cedar Falls Way roundabout. Traffic control will also be provided as intermittent lane closures are also expected while the work occurs.
SE Cedar Falls Way will be available as an alternate route for eastbound/westbound traffic to avoid the construction area. Construction is expected to last about 4 -5 weeks.

do you have any grey poupon?
stay on the ridge!
Let’s not also forget the Hospital entry way that is there right before the I-90 interchange. I just saw an ugly accident there this morning. Why is there no light at this intersection until the i-90 on ramp is completed? In the morning you have people stopping in the right most lane on Snoqualmie Parkway to not block the hospital intersection like the pavement says, but the lane next to that doesn’t have traffic and anyone in that lane can’t see a vehicle waiting to leave the hospital. This morning I saw a car leave the hospital intersection and a car in that left lane just pummeled into it. If the car leaving the hospital had been any further into that turn, the driver would have been killed easily. Instead, it went into the front wheel. Someone is clearly going to end up dead there…it’s just a matter of time.
