The Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office will be hosting the annual Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Recognition training on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at the Washington State Fire Training Academy in North Bend, Washington.
According to the City of North Bend, the training exercises will happen between 9AM and 5PM and residents living east of North Bend may hear loud explosions during the day.
The IED training is co-sponsored with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and will demonstrate the explosive power of Improvised Explosive Devices.
According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, attendees will learn about consumer and display fireworks, illegal devices (homemade and modified fireworks), the damage they can cause and how to handle them.
