It was a scary scene near Snoqualmie Pass last night, December 12, 2013. If you drive I-90 over the pass, you know there are plenty of curves, lots of semis and plenty of snow. Yesterday one semi driver was very lucky.
News reports say the driver of a semi truck heading eastbound on I-90 may have been going too fast Thursday afternoon, December 12th, when the truck spun out and left the roadway, hitting the cement guardrail and ending up dangling over the edge of the steep embankment.
In response, eastbound I-90 was closed last night from North Bend to Snoqualmie Pass for three hours while crews worked to get the truck back from over the edge and removed from the freeway.
Reports say the driver was okay, but was left hanging in the truck’s cab over the 40-60 foot embankment for about an hour before rescue workers could get him out.
