In the last 24 hours, the Snoqualmie Police Department has responded to multiple vehicle prowls in the Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhood. These most likely occurred in the early morning hours of March 7, 2013.
A resident on Ridge Street in Snoqualmie reported that three car break-ins occurred in the alley between Ridge and Kinsey Streets. Neighbors believe they happened around 1AM, as that is when their dogs began barking.
Remember to lock your car doors, bring valuables in out of your vehicles and if possible park your car in your garage.
The City of Snoqualmie recommends the following tips to reduce the chance of becoming a victim:
- Park in a garage when possible or in a well-lit area.
- Remove all valuables, especially garage door openers and GPS units.
- Lock the doors and roll up all windows.
- Use a car alarm system.
- Install motion sensor lights.
- Remember to turn on exterior lights or set on timer.
Snoqualmie Police strongly encourage everyone to report suspicious behavior by calling 9-1-1 immediately when making an observation, saying the longer residents wait to call, the less likely police officers will be able to locate the involved subject(s).
Citizens interested in organizing a Neighborhood Block Watch program or who would like more information about reporting suspicious behavior or crimes, please contact Captain Nick Almquist via email nalmquist@ci.snoqualmie.wa.us or 425-888-3333.
