There’s something new in the forest… a new trail and more parking to help day hikers enjoy the views the Snoqualmie Valley has to offer.
In March, the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) began construction on a new 100+ stall parking lot off Mt Si Road AND a connector trail that – starting Saturday, July 1st – will provide access to the Mount Teneriffe Trail and its popular summit viewpoint and waterfall access.
According to DNR volunteer and Mt. Si Road resident Mike Williams, on July 1st instead of fighting for one of the 15 spots at the School Bus turnaround, there will be abundant parking spaces for hikers.
The new trail provides access to Mt. Teneriffe, Teneriffe Falls and connects you to two signed connector trails to Mount Si and the Talus Loop.
Williams explained, “Taking the Mt Teneriffe trail to the Roaring Creek connector is an easy hike for young families. Previously that trail had a somewhat difficult creek crossing. Thanks to a new 80′ bridge, that difficulty has turned into a great place for picturing the small crystal clear waterfall.”
This project was supported by capital funds DNR received from the legislature to implement projects in the Middle Fork Snoqualmie and Mount Si Natural Resources Conservation Areas (NRCA).
