Should the new Snoqualmie Valley Hospital become Overlake Hospital? When will the new hospital be complete? What will it look like? How big will it be?
If you have questions and you’re interested in the latest happenings with the hospital currently under construction near Snoqualmie Ridge, the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Board of Commissioners invites community members to a Public Forum this Thursday, October 2, 2014.
Possible Overlake / Snoqualmie Valley Hospital Affiliation
This summer, the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital District announced that its Board of Commissioners had signed a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) to pursue an affiliation with Overlake Medical Center. Basically, according to the LOI, Overlake would purchase or lease the new hospital (currently under construction) from the developer, Benaroya Companies, and then run the new facility.
At the October 2nd Public Meeting, the hospital Board of Commissioners will present the key elements of the proposed affiliation with Overlake and also provide an update on hospital construction.
The public meeting will take place at Snoqualmie City Hall, 38624 SE River Street, at 5:30PM. The Board of Commissioner’s presentation is scheduled to last about an hour, with a Public Forum/Community Discussion to follow at 6:30PM.
The new hospital is anticipated to open the first quarter of 2015 at 9801 Frontier Ave SE, off I-90 exit 25.
According to the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital District, the new hospital will feature expanded facilities for inpatients and outpatients, including the following:
- Private, single-occupancy patient rooms
- Expanded emergency, diagnostic imaging, physical therapy and clinic departments
- Energy efficient, environmentally responsible design
- Education facilities and meeting rooms
