North Bend Beer Runners Turkey Trot Returns to Raise Money for the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank

The North Bend Beer Runners’ Turkey Trot continues for its second year! Last year, Matt Miller and Stockard Simon, founders of the North Bend Beer Runners, were looking for ways to keep their running group active through the pandemic and to help out the Snoqualmie Valley community.

With these things in mind, they started an annual North Bend Turkey Trot. The event is virtual and allows runners and walkers of all ages to get active and give back to their community on their own time throughout the week of Thanksgiving.

Last year’s event was an overwhelming success with 120+ participants raising over $1,800 for the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank – this year they hope to raise even more!

The North Bend Beer Runners is a community-based running group that meets every Thursday to run/walk and support local businesses in the Snoqualmie Valley.

The group welcomes new runners of all abilities, and yes, even walkers and non-drinkers.

The North Bend 2nd Annual Turkey Trot is an event for the whole family and will have 3 different distances: 1/2 mile, 5k, and 5 miles, all with routes you can follow on Strava, Garmin, or an online/print map.

The course will not be officially marked or timed (just like a typical North Bend Beer Runners weekly run), but there will be an optional Strava leaderboard for those who use Strava and wish to see how they stack up amongst their fellow Strava participants.

Participants can run/walk the course at their own convenience anytime from November 20-November 28. New this year, participants will have the option to join one of the scheduled group runs which will be held Thursday, November 25th at 9 AM and Friday, November 26th at 12 Noon.

The group runs will be structured similarly to North Bend Beer Runners’ Thursday group run and will welcome all ages, paces and abilities in a laid back and untimed format.

The North Bend 2nd Annual Turkey Trot has a suggested donation of $10/person with all proceeds benefiting the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank. For more information and to register, please view NBTurkeyTrot.eventbrite.com.

If you cannot participate in the event or are curious to learn about other ways to contribute, visit the contributions page on the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank donation page. There are many ways to help out, from direct monetary donations, investment fund gifts, and food.

Join us in being active and helping our community, we hope to see you on the trail!
