New takeout week to feature specials from eight local businesses during the North Bend Film Festival (Oct 8-11, 2020)
North Bend Downtown Foundation and North Bend Film Festival have announced a new community event called the “North Bend Dinner and A Movie Week,” which will feature four days of featured take-out and dine-in specials at local businesses in North Bend. The week aims to promote and connect businesses in North Bend’s downtown district while celebrating the third annual North Bend Film Festival, which has teamed up with four major film festivals around the country to virtually present NIGHTSTREAM.
Participating restaurants include Apollo Mediterranean Greek Food, Chang Thai & Pho, Iron Duck Public House, North Bend Bar & Grill, North Bend Theatre, Rio Bravo, Twede’s Cafe, and Volition Brewing. Many of the specials are open to the public with a few reserved for folks that can provide proof of film festival purchase at checkout. “The Downtown Foundation is excited to partner with NBFF in a more official capacity this year,” says Erin Craver, North Bend resident and Treasurer of the Downtown Foundation Board. ‘ I began working with the Film Festival in their inaugural year, passing out posters and store
flyers, because I absolutely loved the idea of independent films coming to our small town, which is also the original iconic filming location of the cult classic Twin Peaks. I am thrilled to work with the Film Festival in its third year, as it has moved to a virtual experience, and at the same time
also give much-needed support to our restaurants.’
Launched in 2017 by veteran film festival organizers, the non-profit film festival’s mission is to promote the creation and exhibition of vanguard storytelling and techniques in contemporary independent cinema.
“This year’s festival edition is unlike anything we’ve ever presented before. Faced with the inherent challenges of 2020, we’re grateful to have such an amazing opportunity with Nightstream to shine a national spotlight on the North Bend and Pacific Northwest arts community.
