North Bend's State Representative, Jay Rodne, Endorses Snoqualmie Candidate Brad Toft For State Senate

Snoqualmie resident and candidate for Washington State’s 5th district senate seat, Brad Toft,  announced today that he has received the endorsement of 5th House District Representative Jay Rodne.  Representative Rodne, a North Bend resident, currently represents nearly 80 percent of the newly drawn 5th District consisting of Eastern King County, incluing the cities of Black Diamond, Isaquah, Maple Valley, North Bend, Renton and Snoqualmie.

Brad originally entered the race expecting to challenge incumbent, Cheryl Pflug.  Pflug, though, withdrew from the race last month after Governor Gregoire appointed her to the Washington Growth Management Hearings Board, a job that begins July 1st.  That leaves local businessman, Toft, facing Issaquah City Coucilman, Mark Mullet, in the August 7th primary.

“Brad has the business credentials needed to fight for Washington jobs,” said Rodne, “He can be counted on to fight for taxpayers, create new jobs, and reform an education system that has been devastated with deep budget cuts.”  Toft says he’s honored to receive Jay Rodne’s endorsement and support.

Brad and his wife Jill are Northwest natives and 10 year Snoqualmie Ridge residents.  They have two school-aged children and a third on the way next month.  He served the community as a volunteer and director with Rotary Club of Snoqualmie Valley, Habitat for Humanity, Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Snoqualmie Ridge ROA.  His 20+-year career in the financial services sector includes leadership in Fortune 500 companies, and currently helps manage a national company.
