King County Elections provided another update for the November 7th general election, adding more tallied ballots to the results.
With an ever-shrinking percentage of ballots left to count, most city incumbents still hold leads. The same can’t be said for school board incumbents who continue to trail the challengers – although one school board race did tighten with the latest update.
The closest local race continues to be the Sundwall/Lowney race for Snoqualmie City Council position 6 where Sundwall’s lead is only 42 votes. King County Elections shows around 84 ballots left to count for City of Snoqualmie race.
Melissa Johnson also saw her SVSD School Board position 1 lead shrink to 184 votes. We predict Johnson will win, though, as there just aren’t enough ballots left to count – only about 200 – to change the results. We also predict Challenger Gary Fancher has unseated incumbent board member Marci Busy, as he continues to hold the same 5-point lead he did on election night.
One local city council incumbent did lose their re-election bid, Kathi Prewitt. Peggy Shepard holds a 9 point lead for Prewitt’s council position 7.
County election officials will continue tallying ballots and updating results each weekday at 4PM until the election is certified on November 28, 2017.
