Old Honey Farm Inn comes down to make way for New Encompass facility

Since 2005 the Old Honey Farm Inn has sat burnt out and empty along 384th Ave SE in downtown Snoqualmie. A kitchen fire – that investigators determined was started when a bug bomb whet into a fryer – spread and heavily damaged part of the 4,000 sq. ft inn. The building, constructed in 1989, was never repaired and then sold in 2007 for almost $2 million.

And there it sat, untouched and boarded up, until this past weekend when the new owner – Encompass Northwest – began tearing it down to pave the way for construction of its second facility.

New Owners – Big Plans

Encompass purchased the property in November, but is still in the silent phase of a capital campaign to help fund construction of the new facility. Hence, there have been no details released regarding when construction might begin.

The new Encompass Snoqualmie campus will be a state-of-the-art pediatric therapy clinic and also double as additional preschool space when not in use for therapy. Administrative staff will also move from the North Bend location, allowing the entire North Bend facility to be dedicated to preschool and early learning programs.

Currently Encompass houses its pediatric therapy programs in leased office space in downtown North Bend.

The nonprofit has been growing steadily over the past decade. In addition to the expanding pediatric therapy programs, it runs the only Snoqualmie Valley preschool program that is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); a popular summer camp program; parenting and sibling classes and workshops; support groups and more.

Demolition of the old Honey Farm Inn began over the weekend and should continue for the next few days.
