Here are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded to in North Bend and Snoqualmie over the past two weeks – and yes, when it’s windy they get lots of calls…from downed trees to the wind ‘disguising’ itself as burglars.

MALICIOUS MISCHIEF REPORT | NORTH BEND WAY
On March 5th around 3:45PM a caller reported the night before someone entered his yard and uprooted an ornamental fence with a his hose and scattered bird seed. A debit card was found at the location, but there was really no reported damage or missing items.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | NORTH BEND BANK OF AMERICA
On March 5th around 11:30PM a caller reported that a man was sitting out front of the bank “with stuff behind one of the pillars with a brief case.” An officer responded and found a man trying to stay out of the wind and repacking his bag. The man agreed to move on.
THREATS | Three FORKS DOG PARK, Snoqualmie
On March 6th around 3:45PM a caller reported that he and his wife got into a verbal argument with another male over a dog fight and the man threatened his wife and baby. The caller said the man left the park in a black SUV. The license plate captured did not match the vehicle description given, though.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | E PARK ST, North Bend
On March 7th around 11AM a caller reported witnessing a subject looking into the homes and driveways of his neighbors – and then testing back doors of the homes. The subject was described at a white male in his late 20’s wearing all black with a gray backpack and riding a silver bicycle. An officer responded but was unable to located the subject.
DISTURBANCE | PICKERING CT SE, Snoqualmie
On March 8th around 7:45PM a caller reported that her neighbor was throwing a bunk bed and bedding off her balcony. When she asked her to quiet down, she threw a metal frame her. An officer responded and spoke to the subjects who said they’d purchased a new bunk bed for the kids and were tossing the old one over the edge instead of carrying it down the stairs.
SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | NORTH BEND POST OFFICE
On March 9th around 7PM a caller reported that an older white male was going through all the garbage cans at the post office. An officer responded. The man was looking through the recycle bind for coupons.
VEHICLE PROWL REPORT | SNOQUALMIE POINT PARK
On March 11th around 5PM a caller reported their vehicle’s window was smashed out and a backpack and flute was missing. An officer responded and checked other cars in the lot to see if other’s were also broken into.
FRAUD | SE SWENSON STREET, Snoqualmie
On March 12th around 1:15PM an officer assisted a resident who had purchased fake Justin Bieber tickets on Craigslist. The tickets were purchased in Seattle, though, so the victim was given the number for the Seattle PD dispatch.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY | SNOQUALMIE COMMUNITY PARK
On March 12th at 1:20PM a caller reported seeing four juveniles behind the park’s bathroom facility and thought they were “up to no good.” An officer responded and found high school students playing instruments for their band – no crime was committed.
NOSIE COMPLAINT | NE 6TH ST & MERRITT AVE, North Bend
On March 12th around 9:30PM an officer found a barking dog in a fenced backyard and attempted to contact the owner, but no one was home. The officer left a note on the door informing the owner of the barking dog situation. A neighbor said they would call animal control over the howling. The dog’s owner then called police asking to speak to an officer as she felt the person complaining about the noise was harassing her.
TRAFFIC HAZARD | W NORTH BEND WAY
On March 13th around 2:30PM it was reported that a 20 foot tree came down across the roadway, landing on two vehicles. No power lines were involved.
CITIZEN ASSIST | INDIAN PLUM ST, Snoqualmie
On March 13th around 8:45PM, a caller requested an officer check their residence. When they arrived home their attic door was open, with no signs of forced entry and no noises heard. The dispatcher advised the caller of the wind storm in the area and the possibility that the wind opened the door. An officer responded – it was ultimately decided that it was “just the wind.”
AREA CHECK | SNOQUALMIE FALLS PARK UPPER PARKING LOT
On March 14th at 1PM during an officer’s area check, a transient camp was discovered in the wooded area above the park’s upper parking lot. The information was forwarded to the department’s trail patrol.
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY | RAVEN AVE, Snoqualmie
On March 14th at 3:20PM a caller reported that someone was continuously ringing their doorbell and knocking on their door, but they couldn’t see who it was through the peephole. They won’t stop ringing the doorbell. It was just a friend trying to get into the house.
911 PROBLEM | THE WOODLANDS APARTMENTS, Snoqualmie
On March 15th around 2PM someone called 911, nothing was heard in the background. During a police call back, an employee answered who said that someone was sleeping in the model apartment – and had been found cooking, sleeping in beds, turning on the heat without permission. Management changed the keys to the building.
CITIZEN ASSIST | SE WINERY RD, Snoqualmie
On March 16th around 3PM the King County Sheriff’s Office called the Snoqualmie Police Department to report that a citizen was locked behind the gate near Snoqualmie Point Park – and would like it unlocked. The gate, though, was outside the Snoqualmie PD jurisdiction so the KCSO dispatch attempted to contact the Washington State Department of Natural Resources to unlock the gate.
JUVENILE PROBLEM | BALLARAT AVE, North Bend
On March 16th an officer spoke to two subjects at the location about their heated argument over a girl that one was dating and the other was allegedly flirting with… the officer also spoke to them about the consequences of their fight “on different levels.”
CITIZEN ASSIST | MAIN AVE, North Bend
On March 17th a citizen called in with questions about a female calling his residence, claiming to be the police and then soliciting personal information from him. The officer instructed the caller “on how to handle this in the future.”
