POLICE BLOTTER | Car vs. Bicycle, Tagging at the Train Depot, Pop-Tarts on the Trail, Loitering to Borrow WiFi

police badgeThese are a few of the calls the Snoqualmie Police Department responded two during the last two weeks of March 2015 in the North Bend and Snoqualmie area.

SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  STELLAR PARK, Snoqualmie

On March 14th police responded to Stellar Park for a report of juveniles all over the park and in the adjacent woods shooting air soft rifles and BB guns.  An officer contacted three juveniles as they were walking home from the park, warned them and sent them on their way.


THEFT REPORT |  NORTH BEND OUTLET MALL

On March 14th  police responded to the North Bend Outlet Mall for a report of a stolen vehicle.  The caller went into a store and when he returned his 1998 black Honda Civic gone.


 MALICIOUS MISCHIEF IN-PROGRESS |  HEALY AVE S & E PARK ST, North Bend

On March 16th police responded to a report of deflated tires. The victim found the tires of his blue Toyota Corolla flat after observing a known subject crouched down near the front of vehicle.  It was unknown what was used to pop the tires. The officer provided courtesy transportation to the victim and friend.


 THEFT IN-PROGRESS  NORTH BEND OUTLET MALL

On March 17th police responded to the VF Factory Store for shoplifting.  A woman in her 40’s, possibly intoxicated, attempted to take items from the store, but when confronted by an employee, gave the items back.  Police were unable to locate the subject, but would issue a trespass notice when she was located.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  TEMPLETON AVE, Snoqualmie

On March 17th police responded to a report of a possible transient camp on a trail near Swenson Park. A male noticed a camp with a tent with several items inside of it.  Officers were unable to locate this new camp, but found remnants of a possible camp in the area. They stated they would recheck the area later in the night and put the location on the next transient camp patrol.


THEFT REPORT |  PICKERING CT, Snoqualmie

 On March 18th police responded to a report of a stolen bicycle.  A blue Specialized Rockhopper Mountain bike was taken from a carport at the location.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  NORTH BEND SAFEWAY

On March 19th police arrested a man in North Bend for having a felony warrant.  He was transported and booked without incident into the King County Jail.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES  |  NE 4TH,  North Bend 

On March 20th police responded to the report of a male subject laying on berry bushes on the trail near the location for at least 45 minutes.  The officer stated the subject “was eating Pop-Tarts” and then moved on his way.


DUI/PHYSICAL CONTROL |  BETTER WAY SE & SNOQUALMIE PKWY

On March 22nd police performed a traffic stop on Snoqualmie Parkway, which revealed the driver had been drinking.  The vehicle was towed.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES | SE Kinsey Street, Snoqualmie

On March 23rd police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle, with people coming in and out of it near the greeenbelt. Officers had previous contact with the vehicle’s occupants, who were semi-homeless and just discussing where they were going to go for the night.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES  |  NORTH BEND MONTESSORI

On March 23rd police responded to North Bend Montessori on Ballarat Ave for a report of a vehicle that had been loitering for the past few days. An officer contacted the male occupant and confirmed he was not a parent, but just utilizing WiFi from nearby schools to search for a job.


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |  FORSTER BLVD SW, North Bend

On March 23rd police responded to a report of suspicious female cutting through yards in the area. Due to an earlier attempted break-in nearby, residents were asked to call in suspicious activity.  Police contacted the female peddler who was given a ride to downtown North Bend to obtain the proper permit.


SOLICITORS/PEDDLERS  |  FAIRWAY AVE SE AREA, Snoqualmie

On March 23rd police responded to the location for a report of a peddler, who stated he was an inner city youth selling books. The caller requested police contact the peddler, who was “educated about Snoqualmie Municipal Code.”


SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES |   E NORTH BEND WAY, QFC PARKING LOT

On March 25th police responded to a report of a suspicious person near Ignite Dance Studio where a male subject was pacing, talking to himself for at least 20 minutes. The caller felt he was watching the kids.  Officers detained the man who had been trespassed from QFC for one year.  He was cited and released on scene.


 MALICIOUS MISCHIEF REPORT |  TWEDES CAFE, North Bend

On March 26th police took a malicious mischief report that occurred about three blocks west of Twede’s when a subject in one car sped around the caller’s vehicle, spraying it with gravel and causing damage.


LOST PROPERTY |  NORTH BEND TRAIN DEPOT

On March 26th police responded to a report of found property.  A caller found an electric guitar (Red Epithon Special SG model) left on the right side of the North Bend Train Depot building.  It was booked into the Snoqualmie Police Evidence room for safe keeping.


MOTOR VEHICLE INJURY ACCIDENT | SE MOUNT SI RD & SE NORTH BEND WAY

On March 27th police responded to an accident involving a car and bicyclist. The male bicyclist was struck, conscious and complained of pain in knees and lower legs. Aid responded. There were no major injuries. The driver was cited for failing to yield.


MALICIOUS MISCHIEF REPORT |  NORTH BEND TRAIN DEPOT

On March 27th police responded to a report of tagging at the North Bend Train Depot.  Two posts and a picnic table were spray painted with an ‘anarchy’ symbol.  There was no other damage and no known suspects.
