Monday, March 10, 2014, Snoqualmie Valley residents may have noticed incidents of police activity. In addition to police presence in the Mountain Valley Shopping Center for the investigation into a stabbing and sexual assault at Jay Berry’s restaurant, there were a couple of other police responses that caught residents’ attention. Here’s what police say happened in two of those incidents.
Pedestrians Hit by Car in North Bend
Two pedestrians were hit in the intersection of Park Street and Bendigo Blvd (in front of Bartell Drugs) on Monday afternoon, March 10th. 
According to Snoqualmie/North Bend Police, it was a “minor collision involving an older driver.”
Snoqualmie Police Captain Nick Almquist explained that the driver was making a left turn when the pedestrian signal was activated. The female who was struck complained of pain and was transported to an area hospital.
A friend of the injured woman reported that the couple involved were married and the wife sustained a fractured leg in the accident.
Search and Rescue Activity on the Snoqualmie River
Snoqualmie Valley residents reported seeing possible search and rescue activity along the Snoqualmie River, just east of Fall City and the SR 202/ SR 203 roundabout, Monday night, March 10th, around 9PM.
Residents said there were several search and rescue vehicles near the river, as well as one boat in the water with spot lights.
According to King County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Cindi West, police received a report of a man and boy in a raft that was taking on water in the Snoqualmie River. She said it turned out the two were out of the water before police even arrived – so there ended up being no issue.
