Paging all Snoqualmie residents! It’s illegal to set off aerial fireworks this 4th of July. Gone are the days of huge aerial fireworks displays over countless tightly packed Snoqualmie Ridge neighborhoods. So how about a big community display?
The city’s new law banning these types of fireworks went into effect this year. The only kind of fireworks allowed in Snoqualmie city limits include ground fireworks, hand-held sparking devices and smoke devices – and can be discharged on July 4 from 9AM to midnight to celebrate of Independence Day.
Per the new law, aerial firework devices of any kind may not be possessed or discharged within city limits at any time. Possession and/or discharge will result in fines.
BUT, don’t fret. Local organizations are working to bring citizens a professional public fireworks display!
According to a City of Snoqualmie press release, to safely celebrate Independence Day this year, there will be a professional public fireworks display on the evening of July 4 at Snoqualmie Community Park, 35016 SE Ridge Street on Snoqualmie Ridge.
The event is being organized by Serve Snoqualmie through sponsorship from local organizations and businesses and citizen donations.
Serve Snoqualmie is currently seeking those sponsors and donations – and says community members can help make this 4th of July experience truly amazing by donating any amount. They say to consider donating even half of what you would normally spend on your own fireworks display and you can help bring to fruition a huge display for the whole community to enjoy.

Informational Meeting
If you want to learn more about the new laws and the upcoming public fireworks display, there is an Information Meeting on May 19th at 7PM at the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA Community Activity Center, 35016 SE Ridge Street.
Fire Chief Mark Correira, Police Chief Steve McCulley and representatives of Serve Snoqualmie will talk about the upcoming event and the new laws.
