Hey Snoqualmie, did you notice all the street closure notices and no parking signs downtown? That’s because tonight marks the beginning of 2010 Snoqualmie Railroad Days. It kicks off around 6PM with a couple bands on the main stage and runs through Sunday.
9AM tomorrow is another local run put on by runsnoqualmie.com. Thanks to the efforts of Sean Sundwall we now have local races in Snoqualmie again. Railroad Days features a 10k, 5k and a kids 1k run. In my opinion, this course (like Cinco de Mayo Run) is wonderful because it’s so flat. If you do a lot of running around the Ridge you know it’s hard to escape hills. The course downtown is flat and fun… and if you want to run fast – it’s fast, too!
If you are up early tomorrow but don’t feel like running, the fire dept. is hosting a pancake breakfast. The grand parade starts at 11AM. My son and his baseball team will be marching in that one. Again, look for those bright orange jerseys!
There’s a kids area complete with inflatables, climbing wall and a fast pitch radar booth. For the adults there’s a beer garden featuring Snoqualmie Falls Brewery…. and they brew some good stuff. There are also train rides – always fun! Sunday the classic car show is in town. My son loves this one… just hates that he can’t touch or sit in the cars. There’s lots of good food all weekend. I heard the new North Bend taco restaurant, L Taco, will be there. This is one restaurant I’ve been meaning to try…. my stomach is excited!
It should be a good weekend. Oh, and driving through downtown yesterday I noticed workers installing new streetlights that are part of the revitalization project. They are very cool! All the hard work is really taking shape so come take a look…..
