School Board offers Superintendent position to head of Peninsula District

After an extensive two-month search process, the Snoqualmie Valley School Board voted at a special May 29th meeting to offer Dr. Robert Manahan the position of SVSD Superintendent.

Dr. Manahan is the current Superintendent of the Peninsula School District. Before Peninsula, he was the Superintendent of the Lake Chelan School District for six years. Prior to that, he served for three years as Executive Director for Teaching and Learning in the Lake Stevens School District.

The school board thanked the community for its involvement and interest in the superintendent search, saying hiring the district’s top leader is the most important job a board does.

Dr. Manahan was described by School Board President Carolyn Simpson as a good fit for the Snoqualmie Valley, something she said was also communicated repeatedly on community feedback forms.

The SVSD Superintendent job offer is subject to contract negotiations with Manahan. With that complete, the board would vote to approve the contract at its June 7th meeting.

Dr. Manahan would begin work July 1st.
