The City of North Bend announced a couple of training exercises happening near the city on Monday, October 22, 2018.
King County Search and Rescue along with Washington State Patrol will be conducting helicopter training exercises in the upper Granite Creek Basin in Middle Fork Valley today, October 22nd, between noon and 3PM.
Although no trails will be closed to hikers, there will be staff on hand throughout the Valley to alert hikers and ensure safety by keeping the public out of the area during the training.
The Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad will also be conducting training exercises beginning around 1PM at the Fire Training Academy located off of exit 38 along I-90. North Bend residents may hear loud explosions during the training exercises.
