ORIGINAL STORY
This morning, May 28, 2023, at 00:21 hours, KCSO received a 911 call from Echo Glenn Children’s Center. When deputies arrived, they were advised seven juveniles (ages 15-17) assaulted a staff member, stole a vehicle, and fled the area. Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
Earlier this afternoon, three of the seven escaped juveniles were caught in Burien and are in custody. The investigation continues in the search for the other four.
Detectives with the King County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit (MCU) seek the public’s help locating the individuals still at large pictured below following an escape from the Echo Glen Children’s Center today.
The whereabouts of the individuals remains unknown. They may be driving a 2018 White Chevrolet Equinox that was taken during this incident. It is because of the concern for the safety and well-being of the public that this information is being disseminated.
If anyone has information on the location of these juveniles, they are asked to call 911 or the King County Sheriff’s non-emergency number at (206) 296-3311.
Tips can also be emailed to MCUtips@kingcounty.gov or made anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound via P3Tips.com or the P3Tips app on your mobile device. However, these email accounts are not monitored 24/7, so please call (206) 296-3311 with urgent information.
* There is some confusion on how many juveniles escaped and how many are still at large. Living Snoqualmie is working to figure that out.
Comments
Part of the problem is that the juvenile justice system has become too soft in their approach to detaining these juveniles convicted of very serious charges. They need to be housed in locked cells when it is time for them to be in their “rooms”. There is no reason for juveniles to be out at midnight. This isn’t summer camp which is what the JR seems to think the juvenile detention centers are.
