Bob Jeans is announcing his retirement from the Snoqualmie City Council after 16 years of public service at the end of this year.
According to Councilmember Jeans, in that time, while the population doubled, he has worked diligently to see that the City kept up with the growth with parks, trails, public works infrastructure, a rebuilt downtown, as well as the construction of a Community Center, Library, City Hall and the like.
The City has grown to be a better partner with the Snoqualmie Tribe, the Northwest Railway Museum, Meadowbrook Farm, and citizens and businesses.
As for what lies ahead for a new City Council, Jeans thinks they need to consider, among other things, affordable and senior housing, the Mill Site, West Hills, tourism, River Walk, expansion of the Community Center, and continued growth with the Tribe.
“I welcome and endorse the candidacy of Ethan Benson,” declares Jeans, for Position 1 on the Council to address these future matters. They have worked together for almost a decade. Councilmember Jeans feels his formal education and local business experience, both on the Ridge as well as downtown, is impressive.
Says Jeans, “What I most value about Ethan is his willingness the listen, seek common ground, and move forward with whatever is before him, all with a sense of humor and humility.”
