Today at about 12:10 p.m., Snoqualmie Police Officers were asked to assist the FBI with a one-million-dollar fugitive arrest rape warrant. The FBI was following the adult male suspect, out of Louisiana, westbound on I-90 from Snoqualmie Pass.
Snoqualmie Police officers located the vehicle as it was approaching Exit 25 (I-90 & SR 18). The vehicle came to a stop on the off-ramp. Just as the officers were getting out of their patrol cars, they heard a single gunshot coming from the suspect vehicle.
The officers requested backup and were assisted by the FBI, Washington State Patrol, and the Bellevue Police Tactical Unit.
There were no shots fired from any of the officers and the suspect was the only one who fired a round, causing self-infliction.
Using the Bellevue Police armored vehicle, which has a camera affixed to its roof, they determined the suspect had shot himself yet was still alive. Officers removed him from the vehicle and he received immediate medical care from the Snoqualmie Fire Department.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
For transparency reasons, the Washington State Patrol will be investigating this incident.

Two separate posts contradict each other. Doubt the Snoqualmie police are patrolling I 90. Think the state troopers get the credit for that one.
The first post was from the POV of the State Patrol. The second was from the Snopo. No, they were not patrolling the freeway but frequently when these things approach another department’s jurisdiction that department is asked to ‘assist’ which is what the title says.
