Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association: nearly forty years serving thousands of local players; registration now OPEN

It’s that [local] time of year again…. youth soccer registration is upon the Snoqualmie Valley.  Did you know? The Snoqualmie Valley Youth Soccer Association (SnVYSA) has been serving young soccer players for almost FOUR decades?

Yes. Almost 40 years of organizing teams, securing and maintaining field locations, teaching skills, and training volunteer coaches. In fact, SnVYSA was the 15th youth soccer association in the State of Washington.

Each year SnVYSA serves about 2,000 young soccer players in North Bend, Snoqualmie, Fall City, Carnation, and Duvall – from August through December, which is all made possible by an all volunteer board made up of 12 members, a busy non-profit organization and LOTS of volunteer coaching.

Registration for the 2018 rec season opened on April 1st and runs through May 31st.  You can register online at www.snvysa.org/onlineregistration.  Players registering after May 31st will be waitlisted.

If you have soccer players wanting to test their skills at the next level, SnVYSA also runs a premier/select league called Cascade FC which was established in 1989.

Cascade FC requires a full year commitment from players as the playing season runs 10 months of the year.  Tryouts are required, which typically happen at the end of April and beginning of May. Coaches are licensed and paid through a team stipend based years coached and license level.

2018 Casade FC tryouts begin April 25th.  You can register at www.snvysa.org/CFCTryouts

Players are given two yearly evaluations by coaches According to a league rep, the Cascade FC  Long Term Player development model is geared toward appropriate age-level soccer development; making it about the player in the long-term, and getting away from the ‘winning at all cost’ mentality.

The Cascade FC yearly schedule is typically: June – August: regular practices and 2-3 tournament weekends, depending on age. September – November: Fall Seasons (10-12 games depending on age).  January – April: Spring season games (6-8 depending on age) & State Cup Tournament play.

SnVYSA contributions Snoqualmie Youth athletes over the past twenty years include:

  • Over $1.7 million to help develop and/or maintain valley athletic play fields.
  • Gifting $1 million to SVSD in 2016 to lay synthetic turf and put in lights at CKMS. The turf field has been utilized by not only SnVYSA soccer teams, but Mount Si Lacrosse, Fall City Mountain Lions Rugby, as well as programs dedicated to soccer for special needs youth.
