The Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLCB) has announced the closure schedule for most remaining state liquor stores in advance of June 1, 2012, the first day of private liquor sales. Some area liquor stores will close a few days before private sales happen.
To maintain coverage as long as possible the WSLCB will use a phased closure method, spreading out store shutdowns over four days. The phased closures will ensure that there are available, but limited, locations to purchase liquor across the state.
The Issaquah store will close early, on Tuesday, May 29th, at the end of the business day. The North Bend store will remain open until the last day of Washington State liquor sales, Thursday, May 31st.
Last November voters approved a ballot measure that does away with state-run liquor stores. Instead, liquor will be available in grocery stores starting June 1st.
