Did you know? April 28, 2020 is International #SuperHeroDay.
In fact, Alexa even greeted me with her best super hero impression this morning. It started my day with a smile.
And over the weekend an anonymous donor also did something to bring smiles to the faces of Snoqualmie firefighters when he/she delivered a special gift – a new welcome doormat that will greet visitors entering the station’s office and public area. [See anonymous gift below]
According to SFD Chief Mark Correira, the person did not wish to be identified… they only wanted to thank you to firefighters for what they do.
Chief Correira added, “The outpouring of support has been incredible for the firefighters.”
He said crews have maintained a fairly normal routine during the COVID-19 pandemic [with increased levels of protections for calls], but many local restaurants have been dropping of food just to say thank you. Some residents have also been donating hand sewn masks.
Correira said, “All the crews have been inspired and amazed at the community support for them ‘just doing their job.’ We live in an amazing place with incredible community support. We feel blessed and are very thankful for their generosity.”
Some restaurants that have delivered meals to the Snoqualmie Fire Station include Rio Bravito, Aahaar and Gianfranco Ristorante.
Snoqualmie firefighters have also been trying to support local restaurants during the statewide stay home order by ordering take out meals during shifts.
Happy #SuperHeroDay and THANK YOU to healthcare workers, grocery store workers, and first responders across [and beyond] the Snoqualmie Valley.
