The Snoqualmie Valley School District is sponsoring an informational meeting regarding the district’s plan to reduce from three to two middle schools in the fall of 2013. Parents of current and future middle school students are invited to attend the meeting tonight, May 22nd, at 6:30PM at Snoqualmie Middle School, 9200 Railroad Ave SE.
All three middle school principals, Ruth Moen, Kirk Dunckel and Vernie Newell, will be on hand to address the transition to a two middle school education model, a move which happens when the current Snoqualmie Middle School closes and becomes Mount Si High School’s Freshman Campus in approximately 15 months.
The three middle school principals will discuss initial planning around the process and timeline, as well as be available to answer parent questions.
When the Freshman Learning Center opens in 2013, current Snoqualmie Middle School Students will be relocated to Twin Falls Middle School in North Bend or Chief Kanim Middle School in Fall City. Portable classrooms will be installed at the two remaining middle schools to accommodate the increased student populations. The boundary lines that determine which school current SMS students will attend in 2013 have yet to be determined.
Again, that middle school informational meeting happens this evening, May 22nd, at 6:30PM at Snoqualmie Middle School.
