Take 10,000 Eggs, Add 1,000 Kids and Create Perfect Recipe for World’s Fastest Easter Egg Hunt

It took volunteers, the Snoqualmie Parks Department and the Snoqualmie Ridge ROA two and a half hours to set up yesterday’s annual Snoqualmie Easter Egg Hunt.  They laid out 10,000 candy-filled plastic eggs that occupied nearly all the grassy areas of Centennial Fields – divided into four different age categories.

It’s estimated over 1,000 Snoqualmie Valley kids (along with their parents) showed up yesterday, under perfect weather conditions, and anxiously awaited the Easter Bunny’s arrival to start the hunt.

Tension was high in the 0-3 year old area when it became obvious the Easter Bunny was running a little late.  After all, telling a 1-year old he can’t pick up the eggs right in front of him can be a tough sell for any parent after a while.  Just a few minutes late, the Easter Bunny finally rode into Centennials Fields on a Snoqualmie fire truck and gave the ready, set, go.

It was a swarm of kids – a ONE minute swarm – and the eggs were gone.  Just like that, 1,000 kids collected those 10,000 plastic eggs in what felt like the blink of an eye.

About 10 lucky kids found golden eggs and left with a large Easter basket prize – and the Easter Bunny hung around to take pictures, eliciting smiles from some and tears from others.

It was a fun event, and all the set up work was appreciated by over a thousand local kids.  Happy Easter Snoqualmie Valley!
