Mount Si High School student body – you guys are a pretty amazing group of young adults.
Something special happened at the Mount Si High School Homecoming football game – something that has parents around the Snoqualmie Valley gushing this week.
On Friday night, October 19th – in the middle of a packed Wildcat Stadium – two deserving special needs students from the school’s Life Skills program – Madyson Ford and Joshua York – were introduced as the 2018 Homecoming Queen and King. Both have autism.
One reason the honor is so special, according to Madyson’s mom, Ashley, is simple: they are just typical teenagers who love to be included in things.
Ashley said, “My daughter loves concerts, movies, music and doing fun stuff like any other teenager…what the students did at Mount Si High is a huge deal to our kids with special needs.”
Inclusion is a small word that can have a big impact – and it left Josh and Madyson very excited.
In addition to being crowned during the football games, Madyson and Josh were also honored the following night during the Homecoming Dance at the Club at Snoqualmie Ridge.
