Snoqualmie Valley drivers should plan some alternative routes if they regularly use westbound I-90 (and SR 18) near Snoqualmie – at least for one day.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said it will be squeezing I-90 down to one lane for one day – starting Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
Westbound I-90 near Snoqualmie will be reduced to one lane for approximately 24 hours Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon, May 18th-19th.
WSDOT maintenance crews will close the two right lanes of westbound I-90 at SR 18 from 6PM Wednesday to 6PM Thursday for concrete panel repair work. The lane closures will stretch about a half-mile from milepost 25.8 – 25.2, according to the City of Snoqualmie.
The busy Snoqualmie Parkway/SR 18 on-ramp to westbound I-90 will also be closed from May 18th at 7PM to 5:30AM on May 19th. A signed detour will be in place.
The City of Snoqualmie advised Wednesday afternoon that an alternate route during the WB I-90 on-ramp closure would be entering westbound I-90 from exit 27 near the Snoqualmie Casino. (Or See Detour below)
Detour Route: From Snoqualmie Parkway, drive under I-90, turn left onto eastbound I-90 to exit 27 (SE North Bend Way), turn left at bottom of ramp and drive under I-90, turn left back onto westbound I-90. Detour length = 3.6 miles @ 5 minutes minimum; expect backups. Signed detour route will be provided.
