Two-year I-90 road repair project continues: eastbound lane and off-ramp closures happen all week

If you’re traveling on eastbound I-90 this week, you should be prepared for more lane and ramp closures that are expected to occur all week.

Work on a 2-year project to improve the I-90 roadway between East Sunset Way in Issaquah to North Bend began last summer and continues into the summer of 2019. It is expected to finish this fall.

WSDOT said the pavement on this 15-mile stretch of eastbound I-90 between Issaquah and North Bend is more than 40 years old. With the approximately 73,000 vehicles using this portion of the major east-west corridor each day, the aging concrete is cracked and in need of repair.

WSDOT contractor crews are repairing cracked concrete and replacing select concrete panels.

Work schedule:

  • Sunday, June 23, to the morning of Friday, June 28 – Up to three right lanes of eastbound I-90 between East Sunset Way and 468th Avenue SE will close from 9PM to 6AM nightly.

  • SAD! 2 years to Repair a section of road that is way overdue for replacement. So please tell me where the $3.80/gal taxes are going when other states are paying way less and have much better roads.
