Rollin’ down the Parkway!

After the roaring success of its inaugural event last year, Life Enrichment Options (LEO) and the Rotary Club of challengeraceSnoqualmie Valley are hosting the 2nd Annual Challenge Series Races on Snoqualmie Parkway from 9AM to Noon, Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013.

The Challenge Series Races are a popular yearly event for families with special needs children, providing a way for those families to enjoy a fun day surrounded by other families of special needs children, as well as supportive community members.

Flying down the Parkway, the races allow those with disabilities (5′-2″ or under, and 130 pounds or less) a chance to experience the thrill of a soap box derby-type race while riding in a car piloted by a developing driver. An awards ceremony along with lunch provided by Frankie’s Pizza completes the morning of fun.

There are two race sessions: 9 – 10:30AM and 10:30AM – 12PM – and there are still openings for special needs riders. Participants must register in advance by emailing becky.kitz@lifeenrichmentoptions.org. For more information about LEO, go to www.lifeenrichmentoptions.org.
